Yudong Five-story Stone Stupa (평창, 유동리 5층석탑)
It is a stone pagoda with a five-story body on top of a first-story stylobate.
Lotus flowers were carved on the bottom and top stones of the stylobate. Pillar shapes are carved on the four corners, on the north side there is a goblin’s face, on the west side there is a sculpture of a lion shape, and on the south side a chapel (room for storing Buddha statues) is dug. Except for the core stones of the first floor and the roof stones of the fifth floor, all of the roof stones of the pagoda body are made of the same stone as the core stones of the upper floor. Pillar shapes are engraved on the core stone of each floor, and in particular, a door shape and lock are carved on the south side of the first floor core stone. The thick roof stones have a steep slope at the falling surface, rise sharply at the four corners, and have three tiers of supports at the bottom. At the top, there is a lotus bud-shaped headdress made in a later period.
