A unique gallery by the artist Xenis Sachinis. The evolution of his visual work, starting from his initial experience as a painter and engraver. In his earlier works there are figurative and abstract elements, gestural interventions, technical and color experimentation, while his painting and engraving go hand in hand.
The artist was born in Thessaloniki, Greece in 1954. He is a Professor of Printmaking and a Director of the Printmaking Workshop of the Fine Arts School in Thessaloniki University.
He creates transparent constructions, uses mirrors that multiply the image, and artificial light that “imprints” the image, while soon incorporating digital media into his work. His work is dominated by a poetic atmosphere, often combined with sharp social commentary.
