More model informationThis wood sample (p14), is part of the xylarium (or xylotheque, i.e. a collection of wood, from the Greek word “xylon”, wood) of the Orto Botanico of the University of Genova. This kind of samples enables the observation of the bark as well as the wood features. It is classified as Barbeya oleoides Schweinf. This wood sample was collected by Ottone Penzig around the Olive woods between Gheleb and Monte Sabber in 1891, during a scientific expedition in Abyssinia.
