The strap end is triangular in plan and sub rectangular in cross section. The strap-end comprises of two plates, one which extends into a basal terminal; and a plain shorter back plate. The upper edge of the front plate is flat, but the back plate is damaged and missing some of its upper edge and side. The damage to the backplate reveals the circular rivet holding the two plates together. The body of the object gradually narrows to a stylised animal head at the base. The head includes a rounded snout, impressions for the eyes and ears at the side of the head and an open mouth.
