More model informationA complete gilded silver pendant of Late Medieval to Early Post Medieval dating (AD 1350 to AD 1700).
The pendant is circular in shape. It consists of two discs, joined together with a wide border, and a suspension loop at the top.The loop has been soldered onto the band. It has an internal diameter of 3.1 mm. The front disc has a circular border enclosing a long cross fourchee. Christ’s head is in the centre and the background is hatched. The reverse has the letters ‘ihc’ with a four sectioned lozenge to either side. The details and execution of the designs on these reliquary pendants can vary, and many (although not exclusively) are paired with the Lamb of God (Agnus Dei) on the opposing plate.
