More model informationAn incomplete copper alloy Colchester Derivative, Polden Hill type brooch of The Western Group (Mackreth 2011, p.75-77) dating to the Roman period (c. AD 50-100). The brooch is T-shape in plan. The head is complete with wings and coiled spring in place with the spring chord running through the loop on the top of the head. The brooch has lugs on either end of the wings that hold the pin axis bar in place. The spring has eight coils.
