Boulder within an enclosure on M.O.D land, near West Loups, N of Cotherstone, County Durham.
This carved rock sits just outside a denuded farm building and is usually covered by a protective stone. Referenced 7 in ‘Prehistoric Rock Art of County Durham, Swaledale and Wensleydale’ and ‘Lou 9a’ in ‘Prehistoric Rock Art in the Northern Dales’ publications, this rock was added to ERA as‘West Loups’s 2’ in 2008. As per usual, the previous archives offer different motif interpretations
