More model informationAn almost complete, copper alloy Roman brooch dating c. AD 80-250. It is a Mackreth (2011) British Plate type 2b.
The main body of the brooch is a circular disc that is 2.33mm thick and has a diameter of 21.39mm. Around the edge of the outer face is a raised rim c. 1.3mm wide. Inside of this is a central recess. Within the central recess there are six raised pellets connected by raised arcing concave lines that are centred around a central raised pellet. The recesses between the external pellets were filled with a red enamel.
