More model informationThis is a voussoir, a wedge shaped stone used in the building of an arch or vault, from Elgin Cathedral.
This particular one is decorated with a strip of foliage in the hollow next to the outer edge of the arch.
If you look closely, there is a mason’s mark on the inside of the stone, acting as a kind of signature for the mason who once carved this masterpiece.
