Memorial to Vice Admiral William Creswell, who was a foundational figure in the creation of the Royal Australian Navy. The statue is located near the St. Kilda Yacht Club, and reasonably proximate to the major war memorials on the St. Kilda Esplanade.
The bronze was unveiled on 1 May 1938, with subsequent recasting, and was supported by the St. Kilda Yacht Club, Shore Club, and the wider community (as listed in the information at Monuments Australia, citation below).
