Vault of the cloister.
The current museum is housed in a former Dominican convent from the mid-16th century, built thanks to the patronage of Alonso de Idiáquez and Yurramendi, Secretary of State of Emperor Charles V and his wife Gracia de Olazaval. The construction of the temple began according to the plan of Fray Martin de Santiago, collaborator of some of the most important masters of Spanish architecture of the sixteenth century, such as Juan de Alava or Rodrigo Gil de Hontañón.
