This wall of Ute carved petroglyphs could easily been carved 14,000 years ago with some carved last year. The meanings of these have been forgotten by the locals. The same symbols are often seen at other sites and sometimes part of a larger picture. Notable here are what appear to be weeping basketsof water that could have been used to dray lihgting in hopes of rain. A cross shaped stick figure is pointing towards a planetary model. This figure has ourspread fingers and appears in a few places on this wall and elsewhere. The style of some of the earliest work is deeply cut and curved and recognizable even on ancient weathered panels as almost gone. The surface impressions of later work darken over time and some almost match the background now.
