Once considered its own species, this Spherosiderite is now considered to be a microcrystalline, botryoidal to spheroidal variety of Siderite (FeCO3). This specimen is complete all around. Spherosiderite usually occurs in voids in volcanic rocks or hydrothermal veins; also as concretions.
