Triple deadeye blocks shipwreck (NCN 34303)3D Model
3 triple deadeye blocks of the foremast on starboard side of a wrecked 17th century merchantship. Deadeyes where used to tension the stayes of the foremast. They’re still mounted with a chainplate to the 10cm thick oak whale board. The distance between the blocks is 90 cm. The shipwreck (most likely a Dutch Catship) measures 31x6m, was found in the Dutch intertidal zone Waddensea, near Kornwerderzand by Stichting Archeos Fryslan. This ship has a double planking hull construction (double dutch) . The wreck located in 2022 is still under investigation in 2023 and has been reported to the Dutch Cultural Heritage Agency (RCE) © www.archeosfryslan.nl
