Triosephosphate Isomerase is a homodimeric enzyme that plays a keystone role in glycolysis (namely the catalysis of the interconversion of dihydroxyacetone to D-glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate via a cis-enediol intermediate). This model displays some of the most important amino acids in seuqence, with roles pertaining to catalysis, steric aid, stabilistaion of intermedaite products - and so too do we investigate pathology occurances when one of these residues mutate!
Here we take guided exploration the structure of the H. sapien variant of the TPI enzyme, through the lens of various Far Far Away Land characters; such as Shrek, Fiona, Donkey, The Dragon, Puss In Boots, The Three Little Piggies, and The Big Bad Wolf. There is a muddy / swampy colour scheme for staging purposes, with characters being a more vibrant, yet still washed tone - accompanied by a fairytale / magical glow of lighting to display the wonderful imaginative nature of the setting!
