The toy telephone is one of my favorite objects made in the 1930s. It’s too bad they don’t make them anymore and that I find the design of the phone itself much more interesting than the children’s phones we have in the modern era.
This was my attempt to create them based on the design in the blueprint and a couple of images of various antique toy telephones with similar designs that can be found online. Not sure how to design the holes for its handle, so I had to use the reference image of a 21st Century phone for designing it.
There may be a couple of minor errors in this 3D model since it’s my first time creating the toy telephone model in Maya. But I’m glad to see how it turns out in the end.
Texture used in this model can be found in Textures.com Utilized Maya for creating the model and Adobe Photoshop and Substance Painter for the texture as well as other maps required to create depths for both the phone and table. 3D model by Tricia Spilker.
