More model informationTiktaalik roseae is an extinct lobe-finned fish from the late Devonian Period (375 mya) that shares many characteristics with tetrapods. These characteristics include having a neck, basic wrist bones and rays that resemble finger bones, and upper limb bones that suggest it could support its own weight on land for periods of time. Tiktaalik roseae is considered a “transitional fossil”: an intermediate stage between fish and tetrapod.
