More model informationHeinz Beberniß created over 370 sculptures (as of 2001), including statuettes, large sculptures, steles and fountains. In Halle and Leuna together there are more than 20 of his works of art in public space. Form and material vary greatly, ranging from semi-abstract large sculptures (example: Tulip Fountain in Halle-Neustadt) to stocky athletes (example: Shot Pusher in Halle-Neustadt) to delicate female figures (example: The Reader on the Brick Meadow in Halle).
Beberniß studied from 1937 to 1939 at the “Burg” with Gustav Weidanz and Herbert Post. From 1947 he was a freelance artist in Halle (Saale). Beberniß had exhibitions in the GDR, FRG, France, India, Poland, Romania and USSR.
