The idea behind the project was to understand the workflow of creating a game prop. The workflow was broken into different parts in which various parts were modeled separately and merged/combined together to make one unit such as:- + The basic massing of the prop was made on Autodesk Maya in which two cuboids were modeled into the blade part of the above figure. + The handle part was made using two cylinders where in both the parts were placed together to make the entire model. A cuboid was added to make the plummel part on the handle of the model. + The UVs were then generated manually for different parts and was exported as a low poly object file. + The low poly object file was then imported on ZBrush for the major detailing like engraves, better shape to the blade, etc. + The details were then exported as a high poly object file. + Now, both the files were imported on Substance 3D Painter by using ‘baking method. The final texture was given to the model as shown as in the above figures.
