The forest management plan Bosque Nativo Elnahue is working on seeks to renew the forest, restoring its lost vigor. It consists of creating certain strips that allow the entry of light and the growth of new trees in the place where the old ones used to be. But this environmental sustainability of the forest also involves the economic sustainability of the project, which is why commercializing the “”residues”” of the management plan is fundamental.
This ecosystem is part of a forest type dominated by oak, raulí and coihue, varieties that unfortunately have been overexploited for a long time, especially raulí. This generated abandoned forests, without regeneration, with low utilization of the forest floor and without any productive projection.
