I like to make Thor’s hammer or Mjolnir as a benchmark to see where I’m at when it comes to 3D Art. I like doing it because I want to try to incorporate as much of what I’ve learned in the past months into one small project to see my progress. I started with a blockout and then base mesh in Blender, took that into Zbrush and started sculpting in the details until I felt it was where I wanted it to be. From there I took it back into Blender to retopo the base mesh into something similar to the high poly and then clean it up a bit and UV map it. From there I exported the high and low models to be textured in Substance 3D Painter, played with some layering and blending and this is what came out. Really happy with how it came out, any feedback or critique is greatly appreciated.
