Stone Shield, Aldobrandeschi Castle. Arcidosso3D Model
Commemorative marble Shield on the outside corner of the entrance of the Aldobrandeschi Castle, Arcidosso, Grosseto, Tuscany. It may refer to 16th-17th c. official from Siena or the Medici court entrusted for a period with the government of Arcidosso. This is the family crest for Palmieri, a noble family from Siena: the decoration has two red stripes on the bottom part, above a wild bore head and an eagle with opened wings. The plaque under the crest has a latin inscription: COSIMUS PALMERIUS; MONTANE EXIMUS CAP ; ADMDLXXX. Which means that Cosimo Palmiero during 1580 was the Mountain Chief
Shield is located high on the castle wall and was shot at 50m with a Canon 70-200 f2.8 L lens. Model was created in Reality Capture using 105 photographs. The Mt. Amiata Project is an ongoing GDH collaboration involving faculty and students at the University of Florence and the University of Siena. We could not have done this project without the considerable support of the Municipality of Arcidosso.
