More model informationAn ancient Egyptian model shabti with coffin. The shabti is of a type known as ‘stick shabtis’ which date to the end of the 17th dynasty and early 18th dynasty. The semi-hieratic text comprises an offering formula on the coffin lid and a name (Sa-iy) on the side of the coffin base.
This object possibly comes from the Tomb of Tetiky (TT 15) in Thebes.
Stick shabtis may have had a different function to most shabti figures, you can read more about this here.
