This is a concept double decker tram designed by me, carrying the name of my favorite transportation company.
Stadler Super Elektrisch Xperimental or with Stadler’s interesting nomenclature; Stadler SEX and; Stadler Ober Reaktor Generator Induced Einspeisung; Stadler ORGIE.
X3 uses a third rail system to charge and propulse itself on tram networks in both urban and rural areas.
Unlike SEX, ORGIE uses a new propulsion method called super charges, which is currently being tested in Geneva Switzerland, developed by EPFL and bus company HESS. Super charging allows trolleybusses and trams to run without requiring any catenaries.
These vehicles supercharge their batteries in each bus/tram stop, through induction method. The charging process takes 30 seconds, however this requires additional batteries to increase the range, thus ORGIE has separate “battery” cars.
