Another prop practice, this time the S.P.L.A.N.K.E.R (Solid Pine Loaded Artillery Nicely Kicks Enemy Rear) from Codename: Kids Next Door.
I wanted to try something more mechanical in this sorta ‘junk prop’ style. The saw bent over the hinge gave me a lot of trouble, at some point I would like to go back and make it so it moved properly when opened/closed. But since my goal with this was more to analyze the design and how it worked I felt like I should just move on.
Kids Next Door was an odd one from my childhood, I watched it but it never clicked with me as much as other shows. Didn’t really relate to the comflicts but I always thought the prop design was top tier. KND takes a different approach compared to Ed, Edd n Eddy. In EEnE though some of the stuff was shown to work mechanically, a lot of it was more of a ‘kids playing around’ kind of thing, while KND has a more functional ‘this is a real weapon’ vibe.
