Carved outcrop on Snook Bank, north of Longframlington, Northumberland.
Snook Bank is an area rich in archaeological remains from prehistory through to fairly modern times when millstones were extracted. This carved area of exposure is referenced ‘Snook Bank 6e’ on the Beckensall Archive (BA) and was added to ERA by NADRAP in 2008. Stan Beckensall describes:
“Nine cups, two cups joined by a groove, a cup and ring, and two cups joined by a groove within a natural fault.”
