Carved boulder on Snook Bank, north of Longframlington, Northumberland.
Snook Bank is an area rich in archaeological remains from prehistory through to fairly modern times when millstones were extracted. This small boulder is referenced ‘Snook Bank 6c’ on the Beckensall Archive (BA) and was added to ERA by NADRAP in 2008. The archives descriptions differ slightly, with NADRAP being closer to this 3d model:
“Large boulder with motifs on steeply sloping east face. Two cups connected by a curved groove, other single cups and grooves. One large, shallow oval cup and small cups may be natural.”
