Carved outcrop on Snook Bank, north of Longframlington, Northumberland.
Snook Bank is an area rich in archaeological remains from prehistory through to fairly modern times when millstones were extracted. This section of carved exposure is referenced ‘Snook Bank 4c’ on the Beckensall Archive and added to ERA by NADRAP in 2008. Stan Beckensall records “The decoration here is three large cups in a row, one with a small serpentine groove and the other with two arcs that do not meet”. NADRAP struggled to reconcile what they saw to this earlier description and drawing, possibly due to erosion or even a different panel being identified.
