More model informationThis is a small brittle fault within the cataclasis zone associated with a minidetachment within the footwall of the Catalina-Rincon detchment fault, southern Rincon Mountains, Arizona. Small white pebble for scale (2 cm). At this location, small-scale brittle faults accommodate oblique extension, crosscutting the previously-formed mylonitic fabric. Note relative uniformity of the slickenside orientation, with minor variations associated with changes in local fault strike orientation and locations of hard linkage of fault segments.
