More model informationThe skyphos is an ancient drinking vessel used mainly during the Classical and Hellenistic periods, from the 5th to the 4th century B.C. It was commonly made of ceramics and had a distinctive shape, with a round body, two horizontal handles on top and a flat or slightly concave base. It was mainly used for drinking wine, but could also hold other beverages. Their shape and the design of the handles made them easy to handle while drinking.
