More model informationSmith’s Island Archaeology Project (Bermuda) excavations in Locus B, to the south of an 18th-century stone ruin. Excavations revealed numerious early 17th century post holes associated with early timber-frame wattle and daub structures, likely those built in July 1612. Also visible was an ancient earthquake crack in the bedrock surface that had “self healed” through dissolved calcium/lime infill. Artifacts included a mix of early 17th and 19th century ceramics, glass, bones, shell, and other objects linked to the site’s two periods of occupation
