More model informationThe remains of a shieling in Assynt, NW Scotland. A sheiling is a hut, or sometimes a collection of huts, used in remote upland areas to house farmers and their families on seasonal pastures during the summer months. The huts generally fell out of use by the 17th century. The landscape of Assynt is littered with such remains.
