More model informationGrade II listed ancient well in the village of Widecombe in the Moor, Dartmoor, Devon. Many legends surround it. It is said this well has never run dry while its healing waters are believed to cure eye problems. Another local tale claims the devil visited here for a drink as he rode into the village on 21st October 1638 — the water could be heard sizzling down his throat as he slated his thirst.
