More model informationPedro de Mendoza (1479-1519). Tomb located in the chapter house of the monastery of Santes Creus, Catalonia. He was the son of a Sevillian nobleman and a relative of King Ferdinand the Catholic, who appointed him abbot, a position he held during the longest abbey period in the history of the monastery. He began abbey burials in the Chapter House and improved the lives of the monks in many ways. He is dressed in abbatial habit and miter. The head is tilted to the right but the staff is supported on the left shoulder. The lower part of the slab is badly damaged and does not distinguish the family coat of arms or much of the inscription. Source: patrimonifunerari.cat
