The Apostle James was beheaded in the Holy Land. According to legend, his body was transported to Spain. In the year 813, his body was miraculously discovered at the place that will become Saint-Jacques de Copostelle, one of the most important pilgrimage centers of the Middle Ages. Let us note that the dress adopted by the pilgrims became that of the saint who wears, like them, a long coat, a hat with a wide brim and a bag.
