The Aircraft
The SAI Ambrosini S.S.4 was a Italian fighter prototype, first flown in March 1939. The only prototype was destroyed in its second flight, an aileron malfunctioned and, despite a landing attempt, this ultimately caused a crash. The destruction of the prototype, coupled with the fact that the plane had not demonstrated any significant advantage to a conventional aircraft (but rather disavantages such as engine cooling, rearward visibility and the danger of the pilot hitting the propeller in case of a bailout) caused the end of the project.
The Model
A personal project made in Blender, with this model I tried to be as accurate to the real vehicle as I could get with my skills, it’s not perfect but I’m happy with the result.
(You can check this model without the distortion issues on the geometry in the static version.)
