More model informationColorized point cloud from terrestrial laser scanning tabby cistern structure is part of a settlement area atop a large prehistoric shell work complex on Russell Key in Everglades National Park. The documentation is part of a historical resources 3D documentation survey in collaboration with the US National Park Service Southeastern Archeological Center (SEAC) and USF CDHGI researchers. This tabby cistern was entirely documented with terrestrial laser scanning and 3D technologies. Analysis of volumetrics shows it to hold 1,576 gallons of water. The conditions show eroding plaster surfaces and tree and vegetation encroachment, creating damage from root penetration into the tabby floors and walls.
