More model informationThis 15 inch rising main has been reused as a mooring bollard at The Quay in Penzance Harbour. It was probably originally used as part of the drainage system in a Cornish mine and was installed on The Quay sometime in the 19th century. Rising mains are usually 9 feet long – so most of the pipe is buried in the ground. Note the triangular reinforcing fillets beneath the flange. The diameter of the flange is 24 inches.
