More model informationThere were two types of swords in Salme ships. Most of them were long straight, double-edged swords, with fewer single-edged swords. One of the two-edged swords with a gilded bronze hilt is especially valuable. Because of the ring attached to the sword pommel, this type of sword is called a ring-hilted sword. The ring attached to the sword was a symbol of the affirmation of the oath. It is believed that only kings or nobles closely associated with them had a ring-sword.
