More model informationThis is the jaw bone of Rehua, an adult male sperm whale (Physeter macrocephalus) that washed up on Twilight beach within the rohe of Ngāti Kuri in Te Hiku o Te Ika - Far North of New Zealand in 2004. Rehua is a significant taonga for Ngāti Kuri, who have generously loaned him to Tamaki Paenga Hira - Auckland War Memorial Museum to become a feature in our new gallery spaces opening in 2019.
