Red-tailed hawk skull (Buteo Jamaicensis). This species of hawk is commonly found throughout most of North America, Central America and the West Indies. As they are keen hunters who like to swoop down to grab their food, these birds of prey prefer to live in habitats with scattered perches, such as fields, parks, woodland and tropical rainforests. Unlike some other birds of prey, this species’ females are actually larger than the males, a type of size dimorphism. Albinism is another trait more common to this hunter.
