Pulsar, a magnetized rotating neutron star II3D ModelNoAI
This is a duplicate of the model at the link https://skfb.ly/6RKMq. The duplicate allows to download the model.
Artistic view of a pulsar, a highly magnetized neutron star that rotates rapidly and emits beams of electromagnetic radiation out of its magnetic poles. In general the axis of rotation does not coincide with the axis of the magnetic dipole (described by the lightblue lines in the scene). Consequently, the radiation arising from the magnetic poles (the collimated light beams in the scene) can be observed only when a beam of emission points toward the observer. This behavior, similar to that of a lighthouse, is at the origin of the pulsed appearance of emission. In some cases, pulsars can host planetary systems (for a view of a pulsar from one of these planets follow this link). Credits: INAF - Osservatorio Astronomico di Palermo.
