Plasmodium Falciparum Triosephosphate Isomerase (PfTPI) is an enzyme involved in the glycolytic pathway of the malaria parasite Plasmodium falciparum. TPI catalyses the interconversion of dihydroxyacetone ( DHAP) and glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate (GAP). PfTPI is a dimer of identical subunits: Subunit A shown in the colour Cyan and Subunit B shown in white. Subunit A highlights the Glu165, His95 and Lys12 Triad (in magenta). Subunit A also shows residues Phe96 and Leu167 (yellow) along with Asn233 ( light blue).
Subunit B shows S loop ( green) and residues Leu183 and Cys13 (Dark Purple). Both subunits show Ser73 (hot pink). Showing different residues and colours on different subunits were for aesthetic reasons, as mentioned above both sub units are identical. 3pg shown in light orange and water molecules shown as red spheres. .
