More model informationIn 1937, the Czechoslovak Army announced a competition for a new light tank to replace the LT 35. The Plzen Skoda has applied for participation in the competition and as its competitor — “ČKD”. In the tests that took place in the spring of 1938, the tank — type identification TNHPS produced by “ČKD” won. The tank was created under the leadership of Russian engineer Alexei Surin, who found himself in Czechoslovakia after the October Revolution of 1917. In July 1938, a military order was signed for 150 tanks, the military designation of which was LT Model 38. It was assumed that twenty cars would be delivered before the end of the current year, and the rest in the first quarter of 1939.
