More model informationThe church of St. Peter at Llanwenarth is generally considered to have been founded by the Normans and the earliest record of its existence dates to 1254 in a document known as the Norwich Valuation (Brook 1988, 81). At this time, the church was dedicated to “Waynardo” – possibly the name of a Celtic saint (see below). This, together with the partly curved outline of the churchyard raises the possibility that the Normans rebuilt or rededicated an existing Dark Age church. ~ https://www.stpetersllanwenarth.org.uk/history
