More model informationModern Albania withholds numerous forgotten archaeological treasures. One of them is the ancient city of Oricum, where a key and unknown event in Julius Caesar’s ascent to total domination took place. The communist era that isolated the country for most of the 20th century preserved this fascinating site until today, as archaeologists have only recently started their research.
Since 2012, a team of archeologists (from University of Geneva-Switzerland and the Albanian Institute) have started the research on site. To this day a number of important discoveries have been made.
Here is a 3D model of the ancient city that is built on a hill based directly on the rock.
