More model informationUntil the 14th century, it was common to have trials in open air. This open-air court consisted of three benches, a stand for the suspect, two linden trees and a pillory that was used for lighter offences. The pillory is based upon the two remaining medieval pillories in Flanders (in Bokrijk and Brecht). The benches and linden trees are still present in Moregem, Flanders while a recreation of the setup has been made in the open-air museum in Bokrijk.
