More model informationThe Nunton hinterland has a rich historic content, including a network of footpaths, some of which have extensive causeways and bridges crossing lochs and canals in the area.
The area was also extensively farmed with the earliest map (Bald, 1804) showing many farmsteads with the entire area under agriculture.
This sheep fank and dp occupy one such early farmstead site, probably using the structural stonework as material for its creation.
The fank is probably from late 19th Century but the dip tank a later 20th Century addition. The site sits outside te general crofting alloation land, in the township’s common grazing area.
The opening overhead view is from the West.
