"Nudo" - sculpture by Igor Mitoraj3D Model
“Nudo” - sculpture by Igor Mitoraj (1944–2014)
On the occasion of being granted an honorary doctorate by the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków in 2003, the artist gifted the sculpture to his alma mater.
Igor Mitoraj studied painting at the Academy of Fine Arts in Kraków under the tutelage of Tadeusz Kantor. After graduation, he went to Paris, where he made his debut as a painter and graphic designer. Over time, Mitoraj abandoned the visual arts he originally studied in favour of sculpture. He also gave up on following progressive artistic trends: as a result, from then on his works represent realism inspired by antiquity.
