Outcrop on private farmland near Whitton Dean, south of Rothbury, Northumberland.
This area of exposed outcrop is referenced ‘North Lordenshaw 6ac’ on the Beckensall Archive (BA) and was added to ERA by NADRAP in 2008. The NADRAP team describes the motifs as:
“Large bowl/basin near to quarried edge. Two cups are nicely formed, one of them deep. Another cup is elongated into an oval shape; may have been affected by water pooling, but is a definite cup…”
This model just shows the area of outcrop where the motifs occur.
